Being a good citizen in the local community is important for Five Below. Charity, and other non-profit organizations can arrange with their local Five Below store to set up a fundraising event. The event works just like dinner events at local restaurants; people looking to support the charity make purchases at the Five Below location at designated times. 10% of the profits from the sales during that time are presented to the non-profit.

The challenge for Five Below is the ever increasing number of fundraising events which taxed the rudimentary forms and workflow currently in use.


XCENT architected, developed, and assisted in the deployment of a web-based application that would be used by both their store personnel and personnel in the corporate accounting offices.

  • A role based application provided store personnel with specific functions to create requests for fundraising checks and to submit these to the corporate accounting offices.
  • Corporate users had an established workflow which included vetting and approving requests which were then exported into Great Plains.
